Job Description: Assistant Facility Manager
Assist Facility Manager will be a paid individual responsible for the overall care, coordination, upkeep and operation of buildings and grounds of the American Legion Post 155. Naples, ME.
Section 1:
1. The incumbent will assist in managing the facility including but not limited to, the Lounge and Function Hall.
2. The Assist Facility Manager will be responsible for coordinating all bar and function hall affairs, include filing for all necessary licenses for the Lounge and Function Hall in a timely manner, coordinating Legion events, ordering supplies, scheduling employees, etc. See enclosure (1)
3. The Assist Facility Manager may be responsible to file all license and permits for the Bingo and Games of Chance. (The bar will follow all rules and regulations governed by the State of Maine and Maine Gaming Commission.) The Assist Facility Manager will be responsible for meeting with vendors to order supplies and distribute funds from the gaming machines. Whenever possible, the Finance Officer or his representative shall be present.
Section 2:
1. The Assist Facility Manager will report to the Facility Manager, they will meet or converse daily or as often as deemed necessary.
2. The Assistant Manager will perform all duties necessary to operate the American Legion as directed by the Facility Manager.
3. The Assist Manager must work well with people, be public friendly and have managerial abilities. The Assistant Manager must have knowledge of and abilities to perform computer programs, including but not limited to Quick Books, Micro Soft Office etc.
4. The Assistant Facility Manager will have a job performance review after the first three months, six months, and one year. A yearly review will take place thereafter.
Section 3:
The Assist Facility Manager will work a twenty-four(24) hour week, normal hours will be 4 hours per day/week, at a starting hourly rate set by the Executive Board. In addition, bonus pay can be earned at a rate of 10% increase in GROSS yearly revenue as shown on the yearly 990 IRS tax return, filed in April of each year.
Section 4:
1. All decisions about the Assistant Manager, Bartenders, Maintenance people or other employee’s will be made by the Facility Manager.
2. All new employees will be interviewed/hired by the Facility Manager, with the assistance of the House Committee and approved by the Executive Board.
3. All routine decisions about vendors and distributers will be made by the Facility Manager. Any changes to the normal routine will be subject to review by the Executive Board.
Section 5:
The Assistant Facility Manager will have to attend meetings held by Unit members (Legion, SAL, Auxiliary) if requested.
